Radio Host Demands Yankees Fire Aaron Boone Now

Roberts Blasts Boone for Yankees’ Struggles

After entering the season with +1000 odds to win the World Series, the Yankees have underwhelmed. At 60-53, they sit in the second AL Wild Card slot and are 5.5 games out of first in the AL East. That’s not good enough for afternoon host Evan Roberts, who lit up the airwaves with a brutal rant on Tuesday.

“I watch bullpen mismanagement. I watch bad defense. I watch head-up-your-[expletive] baseball,” Roberts fumed. “So the only solution I can offer Yankees fans out there … is they gotta fire the manager. And Aaron, if you’re listening, it ain’t personal, bro. It’s business.”

Loyalty to Boone Wearing Thin

Despite the rant, New York has historically been loyal to Boone. He’s in his eighth season with the team. At the trade deadline, the Yankees added three relief arms and a new third baseman. But those moves were followed by a weekend sweep at the hands of the lowly Marlins.

Shaun Morash, Roberts’ cohost, doesn’t think firing Boone would matter much. “He’s a messenger boy for the Yankees organization, unfortunately,” Morash said. “The message to that roster is if somebody messes up … nothing matters.”

With only two World Series titles since 2000 and a declining core behind Aaron Judge, the Yankees fan base is growing restless. The playoffs are still possible, but patience is wearing thin. If results don’t change soon, the front office may have no choice but to do what Roberts suggests and fire their manager.
