Weather Forces Historic Change
The National Weather Service has predicted that temperatures in the nation’s capital will drop to around 19°F (-7°C), with wind chills making it feel even colder. With public safety in mind, officials announced that the traditional outdoor ceremony at the U.S. Capitol will instead be moved inside the Capitol Rotunda. This marks the first time in 40 years that an inauguration has been relocated indoors because of cold weather.
