Candace Parker Blasts Fans Targeting Daughter Amid Angel Reese Backlash

Candace Parker is no stranger to the spotlight, but even the WNBA legend was stunned by the backlash following her honest take on Angel Reese, and even more so by where fans chose to direct their anger.

In a recent episode of her Post Moves podcast with co-host Aliyah Boston, Parker ranked top WNBA players into tiers, from S to E. When Reese landed in Tier C alongside Cameron Brink, fans erupted.

“Angel Reese is fantastic at her role, which is offensive rebounding,” Parker explained. “But to be ranked higher, you have to carry your team as a top option.”

Social media didn’t take kindly to the critique. Reese supporters accused Parker of being a hater, but things quickly turned personal. Parker revealed that many fans took their outrage to her daughter’s social media pages.

“All these people commenting under my daughter’s page about something I said is wild,” Parker said. “It’s like they haven’t even watched the interview.”

Parker stood firm, reiterating that her opinions were based on facts, not bias. She challenged critics to actually watch the full episode before reacting.

“I’m not a hater. But who are you taking Angel Reese over off the players I listed?” she asked. Her list included A’ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark, Breanna Stewart, and other elite names.

Though the feedback was harsh, Parker didn’t hold back.

“This is my tier. I’ve had five minutes to think about this. If you’re writing a biography on why I’m wrong, kick rocks,” she said, signing off candidly.

Angel Reese Injury

Meanwhile, Reese herself has been in and out of the lineup due to a recurring back injury. After dropping 22 points and 11 rebounds in her return against the Mystics despite the loss she was ruled out again for the Chicago Sky’s next game against the Golden State Valkyries, per Karli Bell of Marquee Sports Network.

Still, the Chi-Town Barbie isn’t one to fade quietly. Following Parker’s comments, she posted a cryptic tweet:

“Clout is one helluva DRUG. Like it gets to a point.”

Off the court, Reese is still shining. As a brand ambassador for Mielle Organics, she recently debuted a bold new hairstyle on Instagram, proving she’s not backing down from the spotlight, on or off the hardwood.

As Chicago battles for playoff positioning in the East, all eyes will remain on both Parker’s words and Reese’s response.
