Angel Reese Wins Standout Award for Third Straight Year

Angel Reese continues to shine beyond the court. Despite the Chicago Sky struggling with a 2–5 record to start the 2025 WNBA season, their 23-year-old star forward was recognized in a big way on Monday night. Reese was named BET Sportswoman of the Year for the third consecutive year.

With this win, Reese joins tennis icon Serena Williams as the only two athletes ever to earn the honor three times. It’s another impressive achievement in a growing list of accolades for the former LSU standout, who rose to national fame during her college basketball career and has quickly become one of the WNBA’s most marketable young stars.

Angel Reese Performance For the 2025 WNBA Season

So far this season, Reese is averaging 9 points and 12 rebounds per game. She showed her dominance on the glass while continuing to develop her offensive game in her sophomore season.

She beat out several high-profile nominees for the award, though the full list has not been officially released. The Chicago Sky and the WNBA both shared congratulatory posts across social media, celebrating their star’s off-court accomplishment.

BET’s annual award recognizes athletic excellence, cultural influence, and impact, and Reese continues to deliver in all areas. Whether it’s through her brand partnerships, her unapologetic confidence, or her presence on and off the hardwood. Angel Reese continues to represents the next generation of sports stardom.

And while the Sky may be off to a rocky start this season, Angel Reese’s win is a bright spot. A reminder that greatness isn’t always measured just in wins and losses.
