10 Things We CAN’T WAIT to Do This Autumn

Soon the leaves will fall. The nights will get longer. And the mosquitoes will go back to the underworld where they belong. Here are some great tips for enjoying the upcoming autumn’s season.

10. Satisfy Your Need For Pumpkin Spice

Autumn may as well be Arrakis because the spice must flow! Get yourself a pumpkin spice latte! Do you not like coffee? That’s fine because there are pumpkin muffins, pumpkin ice cream, even pumpkin milkshakes. There are so many ways to satisfy your need for pumpkin spice. But if pumpkin is not your thing…

9. … Or Apple Cider

Not all of us are pumpkin girlies and that’s okay. Autumn is for everyone, not just the worshippers of the gourd. As the autumn air chills you, a nice warm cup of apple cider will warm your body and soul.

8. Get Lost in a Corn Maze

There are two types of people who frolic in corn mazes. Some people like corn mazes because they think they’re creepy. They watched Children of the Corn one too many times and they are ready to kick any demonic teenager that jumps out of the rows with a scythe. Other people love corn mazes because they watched Labyrinth too many times and they are hoping that the Goblin King will take them away. We’re not judging either way.

7. Pumpkin Patch!

Pumpkin girlies! It’s your time to shine! Drag your bestie or your romantic partner to your local pumpkin patch and take a ton of cute pictures. Pick out a pumpkin to bring home and carve. And once you scoop it’s guts out, you can toast the pumpkin seeds!

6. Plan Your Halloween Costume

It is never too early to plan your Halloween costume. If you are super serious about it, you start planning your costume for the following year on November 1st. It doesn’t matter how old you are. Halloween is for everyone!

5. Go to a Haunted House… If You’re Brave Enough

It’s not officially fall until you have visited your local haunted house. There is comfort in allowing yourself to be scared in a controlled environment. It’s thrilling but it’s safe. Remember don’t touch or hurt the scare actors. They are just trying to entertain you. Don’t be that guy.

4. Find A Local State Fair or Carnival

When the days cool down and the sun is no longer trying to kill us, the state fair is the place to be. It’s the best place to take in the crisp autumn air while petting farm animals, eating funnel cake, and riding carnival rides that are probably a bit more dangerous than we realize. If I may offer some advice, eat the funnel cake AFTER you’re done riding all the rides.

3. Roasting Marshmallows

When the nights are cooler, it’s nice to huddle around a big campfire with your friends. And no campfire is complete without marshmallows. You can toast those fluffy little candies to a nice golden brown for s’mores. Or you can set them ablaze, wait for them to cool off, and eat them right off the stick.

2. Apple Picking!

Don’t worry apple girlies, I haven’t forgotten about you. This is the perfect time of year for apple picking. Collect a whole bushel of apples for delicious apple pies or caramel apples. Or throw the apples into a big bucket of water and get ready to go bobbing. It’s not spooky season until we bob for apples.

1. Watch Hocus Pocus

… or any good Halloween movie. Though most of us agree that Hocus Pocus is the perfect Halloween movie, you may prefer something else to get yourself into the autumnal mood. Maybe Addams Family Values is more your speed. Or maybe if you are in the mood for a newer movie, check out Lisa Frankenstein.
