The sun is the celestial body that promotes life, vitality, and masculine energy. Our sun sign represents our energy and how we self-identify, and gives us a clear picture of how we approach our day-to-day lives. The sun rules over Leo. Astrologers call the sun Leo’s ruling planet, but the sun is not really a planet, so I call it Leo’s celestial ruler.

The Moon

The moon is the celestial body that governs our emotions and our inner self. This placement tells us how we handle our own feelings and how we relate to the feelings of people around us. Our moon sign can explain why some of us are more reserved with our emotions and why some of us wear our hearts on our sleeves. It can also tell us how we deal with our hidden feelings and our emotional trauma. The moon rules over Cancer. That’s why we call Cancerians “moon children.”
