10 Ways to Cook with Leftover Wine

Do you ever find yourself drinking wine but know you have a little left in the bottle? Instead of chugging the rest of the wine and making yourself sick, there are other things you can do with it! Here are 10 ways to cook with leftover wine.

Make a Sangria

Sangria is one of my favorite drinks! It is fruity and sweet, making it the perfect treat. You need wine, brandy, triple sec, lemonade, orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar to make your Sangria. You then can serve it right away in a glass of ice or you can put it in the fridge overnight so all the flavors can blend together.

Add Red Wine to Your Fruit Salad

Fruit salads are great treats, especially in the summertime. To take it up a notch, you can add some red wine to your fruit salad. This will add some delicious flavor to the salad and give you a reason to not pour out that little bit of leftover red wine.

Cooking your chicken in wine will bring out many flavors. You will have some fruity notes from the wine along with your roasted chicken. You can use chicken stock and add the wine to that, along with some different herbs and spices. Either way, your chicken is going to taste fantastic after you add some wine to it.

Create a Red Wine Sauce

A good red wine sauce may be perfect for dessert. You need to simmer your wine on the stove and then add some sugar. You can also add different flavors, like orange, vanilla, or cinnamon. Then, you can pour it over your chocolate cake or even brownies. You can do whatever you’d like with your red wine sauce!

French onion soup is good by itself, but if you want to take it to the next level, then add some wine! While cooking the soup, add some wine to the broth. This will add more aromas and flavors to it. Be careful: it might smell and taste so good that you get sensation overload.

Pears are a nutritious snack, which is why you should definitely add wine to them. To poach pears, you need to peel them first. Then you create the sauce they will be poaching in, which includes the wine and sugar. You can get creative and add extra flavors to it, like cinnamon or orange juice. Once the sauce is created, you will simmer your pears in the sauce. Then you will have a tasty treat!

Use Wine in Broth

White wines work best in broths. Your wine-infused broth will go best with mussels or clams. So mix the two and put it on your favorite shelled mollusk. Go on, you know it will taste fantastic.

Use to Make an Oyster or Fish Sauce
