WNBA Star Warns Trump After Threat to Arrest Zohran Mamdani

WNBA Star Warns Trump Will ‘Learn the Hard Way’

WNBA standout Natasha Cloud isn’t mincing words after Donald Trump. Who threatened to arrest Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani if he wins November’s election. Cloud, a guard for the New York Liberty, blasted the former president and ICE agents, warning they’d be met with fierce resistance if they target Mamdani in New York.

Cloud’s reaction came after Trump, posting on Truth Social, called Mamdani a “Communist Lunatic” and vowed to “save New York City” from what he described as radical leadership. The warning was in response to Mamdani’s shocking primary victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates, which positions him as a front-runner for the city’s mayoral seat.

Natasha Cloud Sends Blunt Message: “New Yorkers Don’t F— Around”

Cloud didn’t hold back in her comments. “If Donny wants to come down here, if ICE wants to try and come down here, that’s fine,” she said. “But [they’re] going to learn the hard way. New Yorkers really don’t f— around.”

The 33-year-old WNBA star emphasized the importance of standing behind Mamdani, celebrating his background as a Muslim, Indian-Ugandan New Yorker. She accused critics of leveraging Islamophobia and anti-socialist rhetoric to undermine his credibility.

Cloud added, “Socialism is that everyone has equity… and he’s going to do it through taxing the rich instead of taxing the poor.”

Trump Doubles Down as Mamdani Fires Back

On social media, Trump pledged to restore New York’s greatness, writing, “As president… I’ll save New York City, and make it ‘Hot’ and ‘Great’ again.” But Mamdani clapped back, saying, “I encourage him to dig into my policies instead of throwing around empty threats.”

As the political drama unfolds, WNBA players like Cloud continue to speak out, using their platform to defend civil rights and support progressive candidates. Whether Trump follows through on his words or not, one thing is clear: New Yorkers and Natasha Cloud aren’t backing down.
