What You Might Have Missed Across The NHL

The NHL Playoffs Recap wouldn’t be complete without highlighting the Dallas Stars’ dominant 6–2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche last night. Dallas opened strong with a record-breaking goal from Wyatt Johnston just nine seconds in—now the fastest playoff goal in franchise history

Johnston scored again in the second period, energizing the Stars as Colorado tried to mount a comeback. After narrowing the gap to 3–2, the Avalanche collapsed under Dallas’ pressure. Roope Hintz capitalized on a power play, while Jake Oettinger’s 28 saves ensured a steady backline. The Stars now lead the series 3–2. With momentum on their side, they look to clinch the series in Game 6.

Panthers Strike Late to Sink Lightning

Game 4 between the Panthers and Lightning delivered a stunning turnaround. Florida trailed 2–1 late in the third. Then, in a shocking 11-second span, defenseman Aaron Ekblad and Seth Jones flipped the game on its head. Both goals came in rapid succession, helping the Panthers snatch a 4–2 win and a 3–1 series lead.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky allowed only two goals on 20 shots. Carter Verhaeghe added an empty-netter to seal the deal.

Physicality ramped up in the third period. Ekblad’s high hit knocked Brandon Hagel out of the game, and Niko Mikkola was ejected for a separate incident. Despite the chaos, Florida remained composed. Now, they’re poised to close the series in Tampa.
