‘We Did It, Big Bro’: Jack Bech’s NFL Dream Becomes a Tribute to His Brother

When Jack Bech was drafted 58th overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2025 NFL Draft, it wasn’t just a career milestone — it was the final step in a journey he started with his late brother, Martin “Tiger” Bech.

Tiger, a former Princeton football standout, was tragically killed in a New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans. In a deeply personal letter shared via The Players’ Tribune, Jack poured his heart out to Tiger, acknowledging that his NFL dream had always been their dream.

“There’s so much I want to say to you right now. And I know that you’re in a better place, so it’s not like you can sit down across from me and read this letter, but when I close my eyes, in this moment …

that’s what I see. The image is so vivid. So real. And I think the coolest thing about it is that I can totally see your reaction in my mind when you get to this next part right here, where I tell you…

We did it, Big Bro! We actually did it!!!! We made it to the league! Our dream came true!”

Jack’s Bech path to the NFL was anything but easy. After transferring from LSU to TCU, he posted a breakout 2024 season with 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns, capped off by a game-winning score at the Senior Bowl—where he was named MVP (Frogs O’ War).

That clutch mentality and fearless play? All of it, he says, was inspired by Tiger.

‘Me and You, Together Forever’: A Last Call, A Lifelong Promise

Jack’s final moments with Tiger remain etched in his memory. The last time they spoke was on New Year’s Eve when Jack was at a family barbecue, FaceTiming Tiger in New Orleans. Their conversation was filled with love and support, capped off by Tiger’s hopeful words:

“This is our year, man. 2025! The year we make all of our dreams come true.”

Tragically, the next morning, Jack learned that Tiger had suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack. But before Tiger passed, Jack made a promise that he would carry with him always:

“I love you so much, Tiger. You were the best big brother in the entire world. I was so blessed to be your little brother, and you will always be with me wherever I go.”

Jack now heads into the NFL, not just as a Raider, but as a tribute to his brother, a promise he intends to keep forever.

A Legacy That Lives Through the Game

Bech isn’t just another draft pick. His story has captured hearts far beyond Raider Nation.

In every rep, in every play, in every catch—he says his brother is there. “Not only do they get me,” Bech told People, “they get Tiger too.”

This isn’t just about football. It’s about brotherhood, grief, resilience, and purpose. It’s about honoring someone who shaped who you are, and carrying their fire forward when they can’t be there themselves.
