Shohei Ohtani Becomes First in MLB History to Hit Milestone

Shohei Ohtani Makes History With Rare Feat Against Cardinals

In a jaw-dropping performance on Wednesday, Shohei Ohtani proved once again why he’s rewriting the MLB history books. Facing the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar not only smashed his 1,000th career hit, he did it in epic fashion.

According to Statcast, Ohtani launched a 440-foot home run to notch the milestone. But that was just the beginning. He also recorded more than eight strikeouts on the mound, making him the only player in MLB history to combine all those elements in a single game.

The Stats That Set Shohei Ohtani Apart

Shohei Ohtani finished the game with two RBIs while allowing only one run. On top of that, he drew more walks than he gave up, further proving his elite two-way skills. Since RBIs became an official stat in 1920, no other player has managed to:

  • Hit a home run
  • Strike out 8+ batters
  • Drive in more runs than allowed
  • Walk more than they allowed

Even though the Dodgers eventually fell 5–3 to the Cardinals, Shohei Ohtani’s performance stood tall.

A Living Legend in the Making

Each game seems to bring a new highlight to Ohtani’s already incredible résumé. Whether he’s crushing long balls or dominating hitters from the mound, the Japanese phenom continues to be a once-in-a-generation talent.

While the scoreboard didn’t favor the Dodgers, fans can agree on one thing, Shohei Ohtani is must-see baseball.
