Rory McIlroy Reveals Major Life Change with Wife Erica Stoll and Daughter Poppy

Rory McIlroy is turning the page, both on the golf course and in life.

The 36-year-old golf superstar recently opened up about a major life change: he’s moving back to the United Kingdom with his wife Erica Stoll and their daughter Poppy. After years of calling Florida home, the McIlroys will soon be settling into a custom-built house in Wentworth, England, once Rory wraps up the U.S. Open in June.

“We saw the house after Augusta—it was going through the final touches,” McIlroy shared in a recent interview with Telegraph Sport. “It was fun to see it come together. We could’ve stayed there, but we wanted to go visit Holywood first.”

The new home will serve as the family’s base while Rory continues to compete around the world. It’s a big step, especially considering everything the couple has gone through lately.

In case you missed it, Rory filed for divorce from Erica back in May 2024. It was a shocking headline for fans who’d followed their seemingly private and grounded relationship. But just a month later, in a rare moment of transparency, Rory revealed that they had reconciled and called off the divorce.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together,” McIlroy told The Guardian at the time. “Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Fans got a glimpse into this rough patch in Season 3 of Netflix’s Full Swing, where Rory admitted to struggling with the pressure of being a top golfer, a husband, and a dad. His words hit home for many: “There’s parts of my life I like to keep as private as possible… but that isn’t always possible in this job.”

After winning the Masters and sharing an emotional moment with his parents back home, Rory’s focus seems clearer than ever, not just on his swing, but on the people who matter most.

With a new home, a renewed marriage, and a fresh chapter ahead, Rory McIlroy isn’t just chasing trophies; he’s prioritizing Family.
