Paige Bueckers Breaks WNBA Record, Surpassing Caitlin Clark

Paige Bueckers Outpaces Clark to Make WNBA History

Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark are widely viewed as the future of the WNBA. However, on Sunday, Bueckers carved her name deeper into that conversation by surpassing Clark in the record books.

Despite the Dallas Wings falling 91–88 in overtime to the Washington Mystics, the rookie guard made history. Bueckers became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 200+ points and 50+ assists, achieving the feat in just 11 games.

The record was previously held by a trio of stars, Clark, Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, and Andrea Stinson, all of whom reached the milestone in 12 games.

Dalla Rookie Shines Despite Loss

In Sunday’s loss, the former UConn star posted a strong all-around performance:

  • 20 points (7-of-17 shooting)
  • 9 rebounds
  • 7 assists
  • A clutch three-pointer with 11 seconds left to force OT

Though the Wings dropped to 3–12 on the season, Bueckers continues to lead her team in points, assists, steals, and blocks. Making a strong case for 2025 Rookie of the Year.

The Wings look to rebound Tuesday night in a matchup against Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.

If Bueckers keeps up this pace, the Rookie of the Year race may be hers to lose.
