Tributes have poured in from fans, former teammates, and journalists across social media. Longtime sportscaster Kevin McCabe wrote:

A Legacy Carved on Stones
Sharpe was selected 16th overall in the 1982 NFL Draft out of UCLA and went on to start all 189 regular-season games of his career. He made three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 1987 to 1989 and earned a reputation as one of the most technically sound left tackles of his era.
“His pass pro fan blocking technique was textbook,” another fan noted. “Huge respect for Luis Sharpe and profound condolences to his family and loved ones.”
The Cardinals organization also honored Sharpe on social media, stating,
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Luis Sharpe. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
May Luis Sharpe rest in peace, and may his legacy inspire future generations both on and off the field.
