14 NFL Icons Who Never Forgave — and Definitely Never Forgot

The NFL has always been fueled by passion, pride, and a healthy dose of payback. Some players hold grudges like a Lombardi Trophy, using every slight as rocket fuel for their legendary careers.

Whether it was a draft-day snub, a coach who lost faith, or a rival who talked a little too much trash, these NFL greats made it their mission to settle the score. They may have smiled for the cameras, but deep down, they were keeping receipts — and plenty of them.

Smith played angry — like, “I’m going to destroy the team that doubted me” angry. He never let go of Carolina, letting him walk and making sure to torch them as a Raven.
