NFL Fan Trivia – Undefeated Legends

Whether you’re tailgating every Sunday or just love arguing GOAT status on X, there’s one thing that unites all NFL fans: a passion for the game’s history. The National Football League has given us plenty of jaw-dropping moments, legendary dynasties, and unforgettable players, but only a few achievements can be called “impossible to top.”

Every NFL fan loves a good stat, a legendary moment, or a history-making season. That’s why we’re kicking off today’s trivia with a classic question that every die-hard should know.

Trivia Question of the Day

Which NFL team is the only one in history to have an undefeated season and including the Super Bowl? What year was it?

Think You Know It? Here’s a Hint:

It happened in the 1970s. Their defense was called the “No-Name Defense,” and their quarterback is still celebrated as a legend. Oh, and Mercury Morris probably hates hearing your team compare itself to his.

Answer:

Miami Dolphins (1972 Season)

The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the only team in NFL history to go perfect from start to finish, finishing 17-0, including a Super Bowl VII victory over the Washington Redskins (now Commanders).

Led by Bob Griese at quarterback, Larry Csonka in the backfield, and coached by Don Shula, the Dolphins’ 1972 campaign is considered the gold standard of perfection in the league.

NFL Bonus Fact:

Every season, when the last undefeated team loses, surviving members of the ’72 Dolphins are known to celebrate privately, toasting the continuation of their unmatched legacy.

Bonus Question: Which NFL team has never appeared in a Super Bowl?

  • A. Detroit Lions
  • B. Cleveland Browns
  • C. Jacksonville Jaguars
  • D. All of the above

Can your team go the distance this year? Which current NFL squad has the best chance to match that historic run? Let us know in the comments.
