NFL Draft Shocks: Shedeur Sanders’ Slide Headlines a Wild Weekend

The 2025 NFL Draft was packed with drama, surprises, and future stars, but none caught more attention than Shedeur Sanders’ unexpected fall. While big names soared to the top, Sanders’ surprising draft day experience was the headline no one saw coming.

Shedeur Sanders, the highly touted quarterback from Colorado and son of Deion Sanders, endured a draft-day nightmare after falling all the way to the fifth round. Expected by many to go in the first or second round, Sanders was finally picked 144th overall by the Cleveland Browns.

Meanwhile, Travis Hunter — Sanders’ Colorado teammate — was picked No. 2 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hunter’s dual-threat ability at both cornerback and wide receiver made him an irresistible choice.

 Raiders, Chiefs, and Draft Steals

The Las Vegas Raiders aggressively retooled their offense, making 11 picks — including standout running back Ashton Jeanty — and heavily investing under new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. However, analysts noted concerns with their largely untouched run defense (Silver and Black Pride).

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs struck gold in the fourth round, selecting Jalen Royals. The Utah State receiver has already been dubbed the “steal of the draft” thanks to his elite speed and touchdown production (The Sun).
