The quarterback position is the most scrutinized in all of sports, and NFL teams live and die by their confidence in the guy under center. Some teams have locked-in superstars, while others are desperately hoping for a miracle.
Let’s rank all 32 NFL teams based on how confident they are in their starting quarterback situation heading into 2025, from least to most.
32. Las Vegas Raiders

Jimmy Garoppolo flopped, and Aidan O’Connell was fine but not great. The Raiders are looking for a true answer and it’s unclear if they’ll be able to find it.
31. New York Giants

Daniel Jones was paid big money, but after a disastrous 2024 they decided to let him go. Will the Giants decide to draft a quarterback this year or look to make a trade this off-season? Time will tell.
30. New York Jets

The New York Jets have not been able to get themselves a great quarterback in a long time, Aaron Rodgers was a total bust and now they find themselves searching for the next great player.
29. Minnesota Vikings

Sam Darnold was solid throughout most of the 2024 season, but his playoff meltdown really highlighted his abilities. Will JJ McCarthy be the star the team has been waiting for?
28. Tennessee Titans

Will Levis showed flashes throughout his first two years, and the Titans are riding with him for now, but it’s not a sure thing yet.
27. Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young’s first couple of seasons have been varying degrees of decent, but with a new coaching staff and some help, the Panthers still believe in him.
26. Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson hasn’t lived up to his contract, and his recent achilles injury may have ended his career for good. Will the Browns continue with Jameis Winston?
25. New England Patriots

The Patriots believe in Drake Maye, and while he showed flashes in 2024, the jury is still out as to whether he’ll be a franchise player.
24. Atlanta Falcons

Michael Penix Jr. played just a handful of games in 2024, but he definitely looks promising. 2025 will be full of growing pains, but he has the potential to be great.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers

Russell Wilson was solid last season for the Steelers, but it’s clear he’s lost a step (or two). Steelers fans wish he was better, but they also recognize there are worse quarterbacks out there.
22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield has been a pleasant surprise, but is he really the long-term answer? The Bucs may not be completely sold yet.
21. New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr has been fine, but not great. The Saints don’t seem totally committed, but he’s the guy for now.
20. Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams had an up-and-down rookie year, but much of that was not his fault. With a new coaching staff in 2025, let’s hope he finds a way to show fans what he’s really capable of.
19. Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith is solid, but the Seahawks aren’t completely tied to him long-term. This could change quickly if they draft someone.
18. Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson has shown promise, but there are still question marks around his future. There’s optimism but also some uncertainty.
17. Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray returned from injury and showed flashes of his old self, but the Cardinals are in a weird spot. They seem committed to him for now, but if they struggle in 2025, could they move on? The confidence level is lukewarm.
16. Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott has moments of brilliance, but there are serious injury concerns. It’s still unclear as to whether or not he’s really a top quarterback in the league.
15. Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love’s strong finish boosted confidence, but the Packers need to see more in 2025 to fully buy in.
14. Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa is good but has durability concerns. The Dolphins trust him for now, but it’s unclear whether he’s a guy they want around for the next 1- years.
13. Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford is still good when healthy, but at 37 years old, how much longer can they be confident in him?
12. San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy keeps proving doubters wrong, but let’s be honest, he had a pretty average 2024 season. 2025 will be a big year for him (and his bank account).
11. Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence is a franchise QB, but 2024 wasn’t his best season. The Jags still believe, but expectations are rising.
10. Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert has his massive contract, and the Chargers are fully confident in him—despite coaching changes.
9. Detroit Lions

Jared Goff has led the Lions to success, and they trust him—at least for now. He’s a solid but not elite option.
8. Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud was a revelation as a rookie, but his sophomore year wasn’t quite as good. The Texans know they’ve got their guy for the future, but there are a few more question marks now.
7. Denver Broncos

Bo Nix was a standout in 2024 and looked very impressive as a rookie. Will he be able to continue his winning ways into 2025? We’ll see!
6. Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson played at an MVP level for much of the 2024 season and is clearly one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The Ravens are locked in and not worried.
5. Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen is a top-five QB, and the Bills know it. They are spending zero percent of their time this off-season worried about the quarterback position.
4. Washington Commanders

Simply put, Jayden Daniels is a star. He not only led the Commanders to the playoffs, but he took them all the way to the NFC Championship game.
3. Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts is locked in as the franchise QB, and the Eagles are built around him. Plus, he’ll have a boatload of confidence going into 2025.
