“They Called Me a Linebacker” Dunne Opens Up About Online Hate
LSU gymnast and Sports Illustrated model Livvy Dunne is used to the spotlight, but even she hasn’t been immune to online body shaming.
In a candid interview with former WWE executive Stephanie McMahon on the What’s Your Story? podcast, The 21-year-old opened up about the harsh criticism she’s faced — especially as her online fame skyrocketed in college.
“I had a very large male audience early in my college career,” Dunne admitted. “It was hard to feel like people were just watching me and judging me.”
The negativity often focused on her athletic physique, something she’s spent years perfecting. “Men would say things like, ‘I don’t like those muscles,’ or call me a linebacker,” she shared. “They’d call me a football player.”
Those cruel comments chipped away at her confidence. “I definitely had some body image issues,” she said honestly.
But the Sports Illustrated shoot changed everything. Livvy Dunne credits that experience with helping her feel empowered again. “That was the moment where I dropped into a split and thought, yeah, I did that,” she said with pride.
Still, confidence didn’t come overnight. “It took a long time to learn how to love myself and my body,” she explained, referencing her viral runway moment in Miami.
Now, Livvy Dunne is using her platform to uplift others. Her message? “You can find success in any body shape.”
