WNBA Legend Lauren Jackson Does Not Hold Back on Caitlin Clark

Injured Caitlin Clark Still Making an Impact Off the Court

While Caitlin Clark remains sidelined with a quadriceps injury, her presence continues to be felt across the WNBA. The Indiana Fever have not offered a concrete return date after Clark missed her fifth straight game on Tuesday against the Connecticut Sun. But the rookie is still drawing praise from some of the biggest names in basketball.

Among them is Lauren Jackson, the three-time WNBA MVP and Hall of Famer, who had high praise for Clark during a recent interview.

“What an Athlete”: Lauren Jackson Applauds Clark’s Game

Jackson did not hold back when asked about her impression of the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.

“I love her intensity, I love that,” Jackson said. “She still has so much development ahead of her, but her smarts, the way she reads the game, passes, shoots, gets to the basket—just incredible.”

Jackson, who won two WNBA titles during her 12-year career with the Seattle Storm, added that she was especially impressed by Clark’s composure under pressure.

“She probably has the pressure of the world on her shoulders, and she’s still able to get out there and perform unafraid no fear,” Jackson said. “Like, I am just so impressed with her.”

A Dream Teammate in the Eyes of a Legend

It wasn’t just praise for Clark’s skillset, Jackson also confessed she’s imagined what it would’ve been like to play alongside her.

“I would have loved to have played with her…as a point guard with that much vision and awareness. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Jackson added.

Coming from one of the most decorated athletes in WNBA history. These comments are a massive vote of confidence for the 23-year-old Fever star. Clark may be temporarily off the hardwood, but her influence is still making waves.

Though her injury has extended beyond the initial two-week timetable. And there is no indication that the setback is serious long-term. The Fever have yet to announce when fans can expect to see Caitlin Clark back in action. But it’s clear that her talent, leadership, and court vision are already earning her a legendary fan base.

As she recovers, support like Jackson’s only further cements Clark’s place as the future face of the WNBA. Fans and WNBA fanatics alike would be expectant of Clarks return, and hopefully ratings would go up once more.
