Andy Reid Falls Outside Top 5 in New NFL Play-Caller Rankings

PFN ranked 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan and Rams HC Sean McVay at the top, two respected offensive minds Reid has beaten on football’s biggest stage.

  • Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell at No. 4
  • Packers HC Matt LaFleur at No. 5

Chiefs’ Offense Still Among NFL’s Elite in 2024

Even during a “down year” with personnel challenges, the Chiefs still ranked 10th in EPA per play and top 10 in points per drive, per PFN. That’s a testament to Reid’s offensive structure and Mahomes’ improvisational brilliance.

While it’s true the Chiefs offense has lacked its usual fireworks, the results speak louder than the play design, and those results still include deep playoff runs and championships.

There is one area where “Big Red” still reigns: PFN named him the No. 1 overall head coach in football.

“Andy Reid has solidified his status as not just the best coach in today’s NFL but one of the greatest of all time,” PFN noted.

Over 26 seasons, Reid has shown unmatched consistency and innovation. Whether you agree with his play-caller ranking or not, his coaching legacy is already carved in Canton-worthy stone.

While PFN’s play-caller list might raise some eyebrows, it won’t change the fact that Andy Reid is a coaching legend. If anything, the Chiefs and Reid will use this as fuel as they aim for yet another Super Bowl run in 2025.
