Jeff Teague Boldly Picks Between Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu

The Indiana Fever have found new life since Caitlin Clark returned from injury. With back-to-back wins and a growing offensive rhythm, Clark is once again the center of attention in the WNBA. But when it comes to the ongoing debate between Clark and Sabrina Ionescu, one former NBA All-Star has picked a side.

During a recent episode of the Club 520 Podcast, Jeff Teague, a proud New York Liberty fan, firmly sided with Sabrina Ionescu when asked to choose.

“I’m rolling with Sabrina,” Teague said when asked if he preferred Ionescu over Clark.

Even after a co-host countered with, “Over Caitlin Clark?” Teague doubled down. “Yeah,” he replied, cementing his stance.

Comparing the Stars: Clark vs. Ionescu

Statistically, both players are in elite form:

  • Caitlin Clark (Fever): 21.3 PPG, 8.7 APG, 5.5 RPG, 44.7% FG
  • Sabrina Ionescu (Liberty): 20.8 PPG, 5.1 APG, 3.9 RPG, 45.8% FG

Caitlin Clark, the 2024 Rookie of the Year, made headlines for her record-setting triple-double and her instant impact on the Fever’s offense. Meanwhile, Sabrina Ionescu brings a championship pedigree, leading New York to a 10-1 start and owning multiple WNBA records, including the fastest triple-double in league history.

Why Teague Sided With Sabrina Lonescu

Teague’s loyalty to the Liberty clearly plays a role, but his reasoning also seems grounded in results and poise.

Sabrina Ionescu’s composure, leadership, and playoff experience give her an edge in Teague’s eyes. And with the Liberty’s dominant run, it’s hard to argue.

That said, the Caitlin Clark vs. Sabrina Ionescu rivalry is far from over; it’s just heating up. As both continue to deliver highlight-reel performances, this debate will remain one of the WNBA’s most compelling storylines.
