Caitlin Clark’s Brother Deletes Viral Post Blaming Refs After Her Injury

Caitlin Clark’s Brother Deletes Fiery Post After Her Injury Late in Fever Win

Caitlin Clark suffered a potential setback in Tuesday night’s Indiana Fever victory over the Connecticut Sun, and her brother didn’t hold back — at least not initially.

Late in the fourth quarter, Clark grabbed her right leg and exited the court with 39.3 seconds remaining in the Fever’s 85–77 win at TD Garden. It was a concerning moment, especially given Clark’s injury history this season. The 23-year-old has already missed nine regular-season games due to two separate muscle injuries in her left leg. This latest non-contact issue now raises fresh concerns about her durability.

“This Is on the Reffing,” Brother Writes

Shortly after the game, Clark’s younger brother Colin Clark posted a blunt message on social media:

“Make no mistake, this is on the reffing,” he wrote at 10:11 p.m. ET.

The post was deleted about 30 minutes later, but not before screenshots began circulating widely.

Colin, who played basketball and ran track at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines — the same school Caitlin attended — was not alone in criticizing the officiating. Many fans echoed his sentiment, frustrated by what they believe has been overly physical defense allowed on Clark throughout her WNBA rookie campaign.

Despite the backlash, it’s important to note that Clark’s injury wasn’t the result of a foul. She appeared to tweak her leg while dribbling just before assisting on a Kelsey Mitchell basket. It was a non-contact play.

Still, tensions were clearly high. Clark had a visible outburst at referee Michael Price during the third quarter, telling him to “grow up” in a heated exchange. She had to be restrained by assistant coach Briann January.

As of now, there’s no official update from head coach Stephanie White regarding Clark’s status for Wednesday night’s game against the New York Liberty. The injury also puts her role in the upcoming WNBA All-Star Weekend into question. Clark is scheduled to participate in the 3-Point Contest and serve as a team captain in the All-Star Game hosted in Indianapolis.

With the season at its midpoint and Clark already dealing with multiple injuries, fans and analysts alike are wondering whether the Fever should rest their star for the long-term picture.
