Caitlin Clark Fuels WNBA Conspiracy with Sideline Admission
Even while sidelined, Caitlin Clark managed to stir the WNBA pot, this time with just a few words.
The Indiana Fever star missed her 15th regular-season game on Friday due to a lingering right groin injury. But from her courtside seat, Clark delivered a comment that immediately sent social media into overdrive.
During the game, which the Fever won 88-78 over the Dallas Wings, cameras caught Clark saying something to teammate Sophie Cunningham. And fans believe it was aimed at one of her fiercest critics possibly DiJonai Carrington.
“I’ll put money on it, this is about DC 100%,” one X user posted, referring to Carrington by her initials. Another chimed in, “DiJon Mustard was mean-muggin’ Clark after a turnover… no problem.”

The alleged bad blood between Clark and Carrington dates back to the 2024 postseason, when the Fever lost to the Connecticut Sun in a rough 93-69 matchup. Clark was poked in the eye by Carrington during the game, but no foul was called. Though shaken, Clark refused to use the incident as an excuse for the loss.
“Obviously got me pretty good in the eye. I don’t think it affected me, honestly,” Clark said at the time. “I felt like I got good shots, they just didn’t go down.”
Clark maintained the contact wasn’t intentional, a claim Carrington echoed, saying, “I don’t even know why I would intend to hit anybody in the eye.”
“Yup, I know. She hates me”

Is Caitlin Really Targeted?
But this weekend’s chatter reignited questions about whether Clark is being targeted more than other players. On a recent episode of the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, Sophie Cunningham confirmed there’s been extra heat on Clark since day one.
“You’ve seen players try to toughen her up. Even when I wasn’t on her team, I knew Phoenix was saying in the locker room: ‘We’re going to show her what the W really is,’” Cunningham shared. “Now, being her teammate, I’m like: What are people doing?! It’s just too much.”
Clark’s presence, even from the bench, continues to drive attention and debate and it’s clear that her every move, on or off the court, will remain under a spotlight.
