Bubba Wallace Gets Praise, But One Notable Voice Stays Silent

Bubba Wallace Wins Brickyard 400 and Doubles Down on Trump Stance

Bubba Wallace is back in the NASCAR spotlight, not just for a major win, but for the buzz surrounding who hasn’t acknowledged his success. While praise has poured in from fans and fellow drivers alike, one person remains noticeably silent: President Donald Trump, whom Wallace has openly criticized in the past.

The 23XI Racing star claimed victory at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, snapping a 100-race winless streak. Driving the No. 23 Toyota, Wallace held off a tough field that included Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece, and Brad Keselowski.

After crossing the finish line, Wallace’s one-word reaction said it all:

“Unbelievable!”

It marked his first win since his 2022 triumph at Kansas Speedway, a huge moment for Wallace and his team. However, one person unlikely to send congratulations is President Trump, who spent the weekend golfing in Scotland.

Wallace Previous Comment on Trump

Bubba Wallace has never shied away from speaking his mind. When Trump attended the Daytona 500 earlier this year, most NASCAR drivers welcomed him. Wallace, however, had a different view.

“We’re here to race. Not for the show,” he said at the time. “I couldn’t care less.”

Given that blunt response, it’s no surprise Bubba Wallace isn’t expecting a message from Trump after Sunday’s win. And he’s okay with that.

This isn’t the first time the two have clashed. Back in 2020, Trump publicly criticized Wallace over the garage noose incident. Wallace took the high road, responding on social media:

“Always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE!… Even when it’s HATE from the POTUS.”

Despite that political tension, Bubba Wallace remained focused on what matters most to him: winning races. Sunday’s victory at Indianapolis proved that. And while some fans may still bring up his past remarks, Wallace has made it clear: he’s here to drive, not to please everyone.

With a major victory now behind him, Bubba Wallace’s message is simple on the track and off it: no regrets.
