Angel Reese Snubbed by Ice Cube After Caitlin Clark Drama

No $5M Offer for Angel Reese from Ice Cube’s BIG3

Angel Reese may be one of the WNBA’s rising stars, but don’t expect her to land a blockbuster deal with Ice Cube’s BIG3 league, at least not anytime soon. The music mogul and BIG3 founder made it clear this week that the Chicago Sky forward won’t be receiving the same $5 million offer once extended to Caitlin Clark.

Ice Cube, who previously attempted to lure Clark with a historic 10-game, $5 million deal, told TMZ Sports that there’s currently no plan to put forward a similar offer to Reese. The reason? It all comes down to business.

Ice Cube Says Sponsors Don’t See Reese the Same Way

“It’s not personal,” Cube said at LAX. “It’s just business.” According to the rapper-turned-league exec, sponsors were eager to throw their support behind Caitlin Clark’s potential involvement in the BIG3, promising that her name alone would bring in serious revenue. Unfortunately, Cube says he didn’t get the same assurances about Angel Reese.

“I don’t know if we can make that same offer,” he admitted. “We were told money would come in for Clark. They didn’t tell us that about Reese.”

Reese, who became a national sensation during LSU’s 2023 championship run, has remained one of the WNBA’s most marketable figures. But not on the level that would warrant a $5M gamble by BIG3 standards, at least in Cube’s eyes.

Though disappointed that Clark turned him down, Cube remains upbeat about the league’s current talent pool. “We got some great players, Lance Stephenson, Dwight Howard, Montrezl Harrell,” he noted. “The league has been must-see TV for sure.”

As for Angel Reese, she continues to make headlines with her play on the court and her growing popularity off of it. But for now, the BIG3 won’t be part of her future.
