Angel Reese Slams WNBA Refs With One-Word Tweet After Foul Controversy

Angel Reese’s Postgame Comments Highlight League-Wide Frustration

Angel Reese has had enough of the referees in the WNBA, and she’s not hiding it anymore.

Following the Chicago Sky’s latest matchup against the Minnesota Lynx, the second-year forward unloaded on officiating during her postgame comments. “It’s tough when you talk to officials, and I ask them, ‘We’ve only been to the free throw line twice up until the fourth quarter,’ and she tells me it’s not her job,” Reese said.

Clearly fed up, she didn’t hold back:

“That has to be fixed, and I don’t give a damn if I get fined because that [expletive] cheap, and I am tired of the [expletive]. Because I’ve been nice, and I’ve been humble with it, but I am tired of the [expletive].”

“Diabolical”: One Word Says It All

Shortly after the game, Reese made her point crystal clear with just one word. She posted a photo of herself being fouled by multiple Lynx defenders and captioned it with a single word: “Diabolical.”

That post quickly went viral and became another example of how widespread dissatisfaction with WNBA officiating has become. Players and coaches across the league, including Kelsey Plum and Stephanie White, have voiced similar frustrations this season.

Sunday’s game was glaring in terms of missed calls. At one point, Chicago had just one free throw attempt well into the second half, and the Lynx had only six.

Angel Reese isn’t staying silent anymore, and she’s not the only one demanding better from WNBA refs.
