Rodgers Offers Icy One-Liner After Near Miss With Fan
Aaron Rodgers isn’t exactly known for sugarcoating things. And that didn’t change during his appearance at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe.
As the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback walked to his next hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, a young fan yelled out that Rodgers had “almost hit him” with a golf ball.
Rodgers’ deadpan response?
“Almost doesn’t count.”
The moment, captured on video and shared widely on social media, quickly went viral. Further proving that the four-time NFL MVP doesn’t hold back, even off the field.
Autograph Snub Goes Viral After Quiz Stunt
This wasn’t Rodgers’ only headline-grabbing moment at the tournament.
Earlier in the weekend, he refused to sign an autograph for an adult fan who claimed to own a ticket from a 2005 game when Rodgers was backing up Brett Favre for the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers threw the fan a curveball of his own by asking who he threw a pass to in that game.
When the fan couldn’t answer, Rodgers called him an “autograph hound” and declined the request entirely.
Fans were split online, some applauding Rodgers’ no-nonsense approach, others accusing him of being unnecessarily cold.

On the golf side, Rodgers placed 15th in the celebrity tournament, ending with a Stableford score of 44.
The tournament was ultimately won by former NHL star Joe Pavelski, who edged out Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz.
With the tournament behind him, Rodgers now shifts focus to a much bigger spotlight: his first season under center for the Steelers, a highly anticipated chapter in his storied career.
Whether it’s on the gridiron or the golf course, Aaron Rodgers remains a polarizing figure. He may be starting fresh in Pittsburgh, but moments like these remind fans exactly who he is. Sharp with his wit, selective with his praise, and unbothered by outside opinions.
