15 NFL Fanbases That Only Show Up When the Team’s Winning

There are some NFL fanbases that ride or die no matter what. Rain, snow, heartbreak, or 2–15 seasons—those fans are still screaming in the stands and posting about their team 24/7.

And then there are the others. The ones who only seem to remember they like football when the wins start piling up. These are the NFL fanbases that vanish when things get ugly and come back loud when the playoff picture looks good.

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Raymond James Stadium was a ghost town before Tom Brady arrived. And now that he’s gone, it’s starting to feel like the bandwagon took off without a driver.

14. Atlanta Falcons

The dome gets loud when the Falcons are relevant—but silence returns the minute they’re not. Post-28-3, a lot of fans have been in witness protection.

13. Los Angeles Chargers

There are more away jerseys at Chargers home games than actual fans. When they’re winning, people pretend it’s cool to be a Chargers fan—until it’s not.

12. Carolina Panthers

Bank of America Stadium fills up fast when the Panthers are hot, but let them fall out of contention, and good luck finding anyone wearing teal. The loyalty just isn’t built to last in Charlotte.

11. Arizona Cardinals

When the Cardinals are good, the desert gets loud. But one losing streak, and it’s like football doesn’t exist in Phoenix anymore.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars fans erupt in the north end zone as wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (7) scores a touchdown during the second quarter of an NFL football matchup Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.

Duval has its moments, especially during a playoff run. But let’s be real—it doesn’t take much for that momentum to disappear.

9. Miami Dolphins

If the Dolphins are in the mix, fans show out like it’s a party in South Beach. But when they aren’t, the stadium feels like it’s waiting for a Pitbull concert instead of a football game.

8. Houston Texans

When the Texans had a winning record and a franchise QB, fans were everywhere. Now? The energy feels more preseason than playoff-bound.

7. New York Jets

Jets fans have big opinions when things are going well. But give them a five-game losing streak and suddenly it’s all about the Knicks.

6. Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders fans react during the fourth quarter against Detroit Lions in a 2025 NFC divisional round game at Ford Field.

FedEx Field gets rowdy when the team’s relevant, but don’t expect the same crowd when they’re limping through a rebuild. The loyalty wavers with every quarterback change.

5. Las Vegas Raiders

Vegas loves a winner, and Raiders fans pack the stadium when things are looking good. But once the drama starts, the silver and black disappear like a magician’s assistant.

4. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals fans react after Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson (91) forced a fumble from Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Desmond Ridder (10) in the fourth quarter of the NFL game at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024

Joe Burrow brought a lot of new fans out of hiding. Before that, the jungle was pretty quiet for a long, long time.

3. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers fans hold a Perry High banner for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (13) during the second quarter against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Dec. 17, 2023. Purdy went to school at Perry High

When the 49ers are winning, it feels like half the country claims they were born in the Bay Area. But when they’re bad, the faithful get a little less faithful.
