Check Out Travis Kelce’s Blunt Reply to Young Fan Seeking Autograph

Travis Kelce’s 10-Word Response to Chiefs Fan

Travis Kelce proved he’s fully locked in on the Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason grind, offering a short but revealing explanation for skipping an autograph request from a young fan during Wednesday’s open training session.

As Kelce made his way onto the field at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, a child’s voice called out, asking, “Travis, can I get your signature?” Instead of ignoring the fan, the All-Pro tight end responded with a focused, but friendly remark:

“Let me go learn how to play some football first, alright?”

Kelce’s 10-word reply, caught on video and quickly circulated on social media, wasn’t taken as rude. In fact, many fans saw it as a sign of his intense dedication ahead of what could be his final NFL season.

Fans Allowed in Chiefs Training Camp

The Chiefs’ camp welcomed fans to watch the team in action. And Kelce — back on the field for the first time since June’s mandatory minicamp — looked in prime shape. Earlier reports noted the 35-year-old had shed 25 pounds during the offseason. And this is in a bid to extend his career and improve agility.

While some speculate this could be Kelce’s “last dance” with the Chiefs, Insiders like FOX Sports’ Nick Wright believe a Super Bowl reunion could keep him around longer. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Kelce intentionally slimmed down after playing heavier in 2024, hoping to keep his edge.

The star tight end — who recently made headlines over Donald Trump’s jabs at his girlfriend Taylor Swift — has stayed focused on football. “I love the game, and didn’t really think that hard about retiring,” Kelce told reporters. “I still feel like I have a lot to prove in this league.”

Though Kelce couldn’t stop for the fan in that moment, he’s known for interacting with supporters after practice. And he would had likely giving that young fan the autograph they hoped for later in the day.
