Sophie Cunningham Gets Candid on Motherhood and WNBA Life

Sophie Cunningham’s Podcast Debut Sparks Buzz

Sophie Cunningham is no stranger to headlines, but her new podcast Show Me Something is taking things to a whole new level. In partnership with The Volume Sports network, the Indiana Fever guard wasted no time stirring the pot. From potential fines over officiating comments to bold takes on motherhood during an active WNBA career.

Joined by co-host and longtime friend West Wilson of Summer House fame, Sophie Cunningham explored how parenting fits (or doesn’t) into her current life. When asked if she was ready to become a mom, she answered bluntly, “No.”

Cunningham, 28, explained how her recent experience as a new aunt gave her “baby fever,” but added that reality quickly hits after 30 minutes with a fussy child: “I’m good. I’m thriving, actually.” For now, the only “momming” she’s doing is for her dog, who now lives with her parents because of her hectic schedule.

Fame, Fandom, and Possible Wrestling Career

Sophie Cunningham’s debut podcast episode racked up over 250,000 views in its first week. And thanks to her fierce defense of Caitlin Clark during a June game against the Connecticut Sun, Cunningham’s star has only risen. She now boasts 1.2 million Instagram followers and sponsorship deals with Arby’s and Ring.

It’s no surprise The Volume’s Dane Aagaard praised her authenticity: “It’s an exciting time for the WNBA, and we’re thrilled to grow The Volume’s portfolio with a show that celebrates women’s sports, pop culture, and friendship.”

Her rise hasn’t gone unnoticed outside basketball, either. Women of Wrestling co-founder Dave McLane hinted at bringing her into the ring. “She takes down the competition and protects Caitlin Clark. We’d love to have Sophie in WOW,” he said.

While Sophie Cunningham is still figuring out when motherhood fits into her journey, she’s clearly found her stride off the court. Whether it’s through bold podcasting, protecting teammates, or building a brand, Cunningham’s next chapter looks just as dynamic as her game.
