Fever Winning Streak Continues Without Caitlin Clark

Fever Continue Winning Streak Without Clark

The Indiana Fever are thriving with or without Caitlin Clark. After their third straight win, this time over the Phoenix Mercury, head coach Stephanie White was all smiles. A behind-the-scenes locker room video captured the emotional moment: White high-fived every player and staffer before delivering an impassioned speech. “That was a big win,” she said. “We stacked a day. No room for slippage.”

That message hit hard, considering this win came without their star guard on the court. Clark has only played 13 games this season, and her early shooting struggles just 36.6% from the field and 27.9% from three didn’t help the Fever’s slow start. But the team has clearly found its rhythm in her absence.

Caitlin Clark’s Influence Still Felt

Despite Clark’s injury, her impact remains massive. Her 8.8 assists and 5 rebounds per game were instrumental in wins against teams like the Dream and Wings. But with players like Aari McDonald stepping up, scoring 27 points in the Mercury game the Fever are showing they’re no one-woman team.

The Fever shot a scorching 51.6% from the field and drained 11 threes. Five players scored in double figures. The locker room celebration wasn’t just about a win, it was a statement.

Cunningham Backs Clark as Face of the WNBA

While Clark didn’t play, Sophie Cunningham made sure her presence was felt in the wider WNBA conversation. On the Show Me Something podcast, she defended Clark’s status as the league’s face. “It literally [expletive] me off when people say she’s not,” Cunningham said. “You’re dumb as [expletive].”

Whether or not critics agree, Clark’s influence is undeniable. From spiking viewership to boosting jersey sales, she’s reshaping the league’s image even while sidelined.

The Fever haven’t set a date for Clark’s return, and with the way they’re playing, there’s no need to rush. One thing’s clear: whether on the bench or the court, Caitlin Clark is still the heartbeat of this rising Fever squad.
