Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Takes Spotlight After Pickett Injury

Shedeur Sanders’ Post Turns Heads at Browns Camp

Shedeur Sanders is wasting no time making waves at Browns training camp. The rookie quarterback posted his first highlight reel to Instagram this week, timed just hours after news broke that Kenny Pickett would miss time due to a hamstring injury.

The video, backed by Jay-Z’s “Streets Is Watching,” immediately fueled buzz. Fans flooded the comments, interpreting the timing as a power move in the race for Cleveland’s QB1 job.

“Pickett injury literally perfect timing. First team reps wide open now gang,” one fan wrote.

Another chimed in, “They can’t help but to give you those reps now! Let’s make it happen 12!”

It’s clear Sanders has a growing fan base rooting for him to climb the depth chart.

Sanders Embraces His Opportunity

Despite starting camp low on the depth chart behind Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel, Sanders isn’t sweating it. He’s focused, grateful, and unfazed by the politics of reps.

“There’s a lot of people who want to have the opportunity to be at this level, and I’m here,” Shedeur Sanders said. “Whenever that is, that is.”

The former Colorado star added that he knows his worth and what he can bring to the team, regardless of how many first-team snaps he gets early on.

Browns Await Pickett’s Return

Pickett, acquired from the Eagles in March, had been showing promise before his injury. QB coach Bill Musgrave praised his early camp performances, calling them “stellar,” though acknowledging one late throw led to an interception.

“At times, we learn more from stubbing our toe than from our triumphs,” Musgrave said.

There’s currently no timeline for Pickett’s return, but insiders suggest it could be several weeks.

With the Browns’ preseason opener set for August 8, the door may be opening for Shedeur Sanders to show exactly what he’s capable of under the lights.
