Brittany Force Sets Highest NHRA Speed Record in History

Force Rewrites History With Record-Breaking Run

Brittany Force has once again etched her name into NHRA history. The two-time Top Fuel champion unleashed a staggering 341.85 MPH run at Pacific Raceways during the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Washington. Making her the fastest driver in the sport’s history, surpassing both Top Fuel and Funny Car benchmarks.

The record-breaking moment came during a semifinal victory over Doug Kalitta, where Force outdid not only her own previous Top Fuel mark from April but also teammate Austin Prock’s Funny Car record of 341.68 MPH. Force now holds five of the top six fastest Top Fuel runs ever, cementing her legacy as a drag racing icon.

Although she fell just short in the finals against Shawn Langdon due to a mechanical shutdown, Force still left the weekend proud. “Obviously the highlight of our weekend was in the semifinals,” she told Autoweek. “To be the fastest Top Fuel driver and the fastest person in our sport, it’s a huge accomplishment.”

NASCAR Keyword Driver Leads Women’s Racing Revolution

Brittany Force’s achievement isn’t just a personal milestone. It’s another giant step for women in motorsports. Force joins a small but elite list of female pioneers in racing, alongside Danica Patrick, a former NASCAR and IndyCar driver turned F1 analyst, and Katherine Legge, who’s still chasing her own breakthrough in NASCAR.

While Patrick made history with her IndyCar win and strong NASCAR finishes, Force is now carving her legacy on the drag strip, showing that female drivers are here to set records, not just chase them. Her continued dominance, combined with a top-five ranking in the NHRA standings, positions her as a serious contender in the Countdown.

“We work hard to put up the best numbers,” Force said. “Wins matter, but setting records is pretty awesome too.”

As the NHRA postseason nears, all eyes will be on Force, and whether she can add another championship to her already historic season.
