Paige Bueckers Makes WNBA History, Ties Caitlin Clark’s Record

Paige Bueckers continues to shine in her rookie season with the Dallas Wings, and on Tuesday night, she etched her name into WNBA history, alongside fellow standout Caitlin Clark.

Fresh off her first All-Star appearance, Bueckers took the court against Skylar Diggins-Smith and the Seattle Storm, looking to help the struggling Wings snap their losing streak. But the night quickly became about more than just the game.

Fastest to 300 Points and 100 Assists, Tied with Clark

Entering the matchup, Bueckers had 331 points and 99 assists under her belt. With 6:22 left in the second quarter, she dished her 100th career assist, becoming just the second player in league history to record 300+ points and 100+ assists in just 19 games, the other being Caitlin Clark, last season’s No. 1 overall pick.

By matching Clark’s rapid ascent, Bueckers now holds a share of the WNBA record for fastest to that dual milestone. For context, legends like Sue Bird, Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, and Andrea Stinson didn’t reach the mark until their 22nd game.

The Dallas Wings celebrated the moment on social media:

“A show stopping history maker doing what she does best. Paige Bueckers has officially tied the record for (fastest) player to secure 300 pts & 100 asts!”

Bueckers’ rookie campaign has already been historic. She became the first rookie All-Star starter in WNBA history and continues to lead all rookies with averages of 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game (before Tuesday’s contest).

The Wings next face the Golden State Valkyries on Friday in the Bay Area. And with momentum building behind her, Bueckers looks to be a lock for the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
