End of the Road: NASCAR Team Shuts Down After Dover Race

A Sudden End to a NASCAR Chapter

The NASCAR Xfinity Series has lost a team this weekend. Our Motorsports, a competitor in the series since 2020, shut down operations after Saturday’s BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway.

The news, first reported by Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass, comes just days after full-time driver Kris Wright parted ways with the team. Kaz Grala stepped in for the final race and piloted the No. 5 Ferguson Chevrolet.

In an official statement, the team confirmed:

“Our Motorsports will complete its season on Saturday in Dover, Del., with Kaz Grala behind the wheel… Our Motorsports will cease operations in NASCAR racing moving forward.”

Founded in 2015 for ARCA Menards Series competition, Our Motorsports made the jump to NASCAR’s Xfinity Series in 2020. Despite a full-time effort and dozens of starts, the team never secured a victory in either ARCA or Xfinity.

Their exit, while not unexpected given recent turbulence, marks the end of a six-year journey through the sport’s competitive circuits.

Behind the Curtain: A Team in Turmoil

The departure of Kris Wright earlier this week hinted that something was amiss. While no public explanation was offered, the sudden replacement by Grala raised eyebrows. Just days later, the shutdown was confirmed.

It’s a somber moment for fans and staff who supported the underdog team through thick and thin. On social media, tributes poured in thanking the organization for its contributions to NASCAR and grassroots racing.

Though Our Motorsports never stood atop the podium, their commitment to competing at NASCAR’s second-highest level earned respect from fans and insiders alike. The BetRivers 200 at Dover was their final lap in the series, and the end of an era for one of the sport’s determined independents.
