Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA All-Stars History

Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History on Sunday

Caitlin Clark continues to rewrite the WNBA history books. The Indiana Fever guard was officially named All-Star Game captain for the Eastern Conference. Which marks yet another milestone in her already historic young career.

But that’s not all. Clark also set a new WNBA record for the most All-Star Game votes ever received, tallying over 1.2 million votes, according to Yahoo Sports. The 23-year-old becomes the first player in Fever history to serve as a captain in the All-Star Game, which will be held on July 19 in Indianapolis.

Clark Headlines Star-Studded All-Star Lineup

Clark will lead a stacked Eastern Conference squad opposite Napheesa Collier, the Minnesota Lynx star and captain for the Western Conference. The voting results also saw three of Clark’s Fever teammates. Which Includes Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and Lexie Hull, rank in the top 10. Signaling the growing national spotlight on Indiana’s franchise.

Clark’s selection comes in just her second WNBA season, where she’s averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and a league-leading 8.9 assists per game. Her court vision and flashy playstyle have drawn millions of new fans to the league.

Despite battling injuries this season, including a quadriceps and more recently a groin strain. Caitlin Clark’s impact hasn’t diminished. She’s missed seven games but remains a central figure in the WNBA conversation and fan engagement.

The WNBA celebrated Clark’s historic vote total with a post reading, “First @IndianaFever All-Star captain in WNBA history mood.” The All-Star captaincy further confirms her role as the face of the league’s future.

With the WNBA All-Star Game taking place in Indiana and Clark at the helm, all eyes will be on her hometown performance. For fans and the Indiana Fever alike, July 19 is shaping up to be a marquee moment in WNBA history.
