Caitlin Clark Sideline Antics Sparked a Funny Reaction from Kelsey Plum

The Indiana Fever were without star rookie Caitlin Clark on Thursday night as she continues to recover from a groin injury. But just because she wasn’t on the court doesn’t mean she stayed quiet.

During the second quarter of the Fever’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks, Clark — known for her passionate energy — was visibly animated from the bench. She voiced her frustration with the officiating and hyped up her teammates like always. But her sideline antics caught the attention of none other than Kelsey Plum.

Caitlin Clark Benched, But Still in the Game

While Clark didn’t suit up for the game, her presence was felt. Cameras caught her reacting strongly to a no-call and pleading her case to the officials from the bench. That’s when Plum, a veteran Sparks guard with a flair for the dramatic herself, turned to the refs and jokingly mimed a technical foul against Clark.

The light-hearted moment quickly made the rounds on social media.

“Kelsey Plum trying to get Caitlin Clark T’d up from the bench is hilarious,” one fan posted on X. “Even the refs had to laugh at that one.”

A Fun Moment Between Fierce Competitors

To be clear, no technical was issued, and the refs didn’t take Plum’s suggestion seriously. But the exchange highlighted the growing chemistry and competitive banter forming in this new era of the WNBA, where stars like Plum and Clark are drawing record viewership and selling out arenas.

Even Fever fans seemed to enjoy the playful moment. One tweet joked, “Imagine Caitlin Clark getting a tech from the bench. Iconic behavior only.”

Plum, known for her fiery attitude and quick wit, played it perfectly, poking fun while keeping things competitive and fun.

With Clark’s injury status still day-to-day, fans may not see her on the court right away, but her influence on the game is impossible to miss, especially when it sparks moments like this.
