10 Teams That Totally Crushed the 2025 NBA Draft

The 2025 NBA Draft had everything: chaos, curveballs, and a whole lot of future All-Stars. While it’s way too early to hand out permanent grades, some teams clearly walked away with bags of gold.

From lucky lottery jumps to late-round steals and everything in between, these 10 teams absolutely nailed draft night. Whether they scored a franchise centerpiece or stockpiled smart picks, they each gave their fanbases a reason to believe.

10. Boston Celtics

The Celtics took Hugo González at No. 28, and it felt like one of those classic “of course they did” moves. The Real Madrid product brings size, shooting, and serious potential to a team that doesn’t need to rush anyone into the spotlight.

9. Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC did what OKC does: draft smart and think long-term. They added Thomas Sorber and flipped Nique Clifford to Sacramento, continuing their trend of adding size, versatility, and more future options to an already stacked young core.

8. Miami Heat

Miami snagged Kasparas Jakučionis at No. 20, and it might just be the kind of sneaky-good pick that makes other teams jealous in a few years. The Lithuanian point guard brings size and skill to a rotation that’s been hunting for a long-term floor general.

7. Brooklyn Nets

The Suns caught a break when Khaman Maluach slid to No. 10, and they didn’t hesitate. A legit rim protector with upside, Maluach gives Phoenix some much-needed interior presence and a long-term building block.
