Owen Caissie, the Chicago Cubs’ No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is turning heads in Triple-A with a home run streak that’s impossible to ignore. On Wednesday night, Caissie crushed a 407-foot blast to left-center for his third consecutive game with a home run. Helping the Iowa Cubs extend their lead over Louisville.
It was a clutch moment in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Iowa up 5–2, Caissie stepped to the plate and launched the second pitch he saw out of the park, driving in two key insurance runs. The towering homer marked his 10th of the season, a major sign of progress for the 22-year-old slugger.

The power surge comes alongside strong overall production. Caissie’s 15 hits in the last 15 days tie him with fellow Cubs prospect Moisés Ballesteros for fifth-most in the league over that span.

Caissie’s recent dominance puts him firmly on the radar for a big-league call-up if he keeps the momentum going. The Cubs organization has been patient with his development, but performances like this one suggest he may be ready to take the next step.
He’ll look to extend his streak Thursday night when Iowa faces Louisville in the final leg of a doubleheader.
