‘Fire Stephanie White!’ Calls Mount for Stephanie White’s Firing After Indiana Fever’s Disastrous Start

Caitlin Clark’s Injury Exposes Fever’s Bigger Problem: Leadership

The Indiana Fever entered the 2025 WNBA season with momentum. After going 20-20 in Caitlin Clark’s rookie campaign, expectations were sky-high. The season even opened with a bang: a 93-58 blowout win over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. But just six games in, those playoff hopes have hit a wall.

Now sitting at 2-4, the Fever are struggling, and fans are losing patience with head coach Stephanie White.

Fever Moves from Optimism to Outrage in 6 Games

Indiana looked solid in the early stretch, even after splitting a back-to-back with the Atlanta Dream. But a close 90-88 loss to the defending champion New York Liberty came at a cost. Clark suffered a left quadriceps strain, sidelining her for at least two weeks.

Without their star rookie, the Fever dropped two more games, first to the Washington Mystics, then to the Connecticut Sun, White’s former team. The team now sits fourth in the East and ninth overall, and with Clark still out, things could get worse.

Indiana Fever Fans Are Fed Up

Social media exploded after the latest losses. Here’s what some angry fans had to say:

“Fire Stephanie White. How does she run a worse offense than Christie Sides?”

“Stephanie White does not even have the Fever prepared to play.”

“The Fever are going to lose every game until Caitlin Clark returns… She’s proving that Clark is the league’s MVP.”

Some fans even tagged the team’s official account directly:

“Fire Stephanie White, you fools @IndianaFever.”

Krauskopf’s Big Gamble Might Be Backfiring

Kelly Krauskopf, the Fever’s president of basketball operations, hired White in the offseason to replace Christie Sides, who coached Indiana for two seasons. At the time, Krauskopf said:

“Stephanie is a part of the fabric of this franchise… There is no one more equipped to lead our group of players to the next level.”

That faith is now being tested.

Yes, Caitlin Clark’s injury is a major blow, but is it fair to call for White’s firing after just six games, half of them without the team’s best player?

Maybe not. But in a league where stars like Clark shift the spotlight and raise the stakes, every decision is magnified.

The pressure is officially on. Unless White can turn things around fast, the Fever could be staring down another wasted season.
