‘I Ain’t Gonna Lie’: A.J. Brown Admits Eagles Are Watching Cowboys After George Pickens Trade

The Philadelphia Eagles were nothing short of dominant in 2024. They went 5-1 in divisional play, steamrolled their way through the NFC playoffs, and earned their second Super Bowl appearance in three years. Behind Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, the Eagles seem primed for a potential dynasty run.

But with the 2025 season on the horizon, not everything is smooth sailing. Despite returning nearly their entire core, including Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and much of their elite defense, there’s one NFC East rival that now looms larger than before, the Dallas Cowboys.

A.J. Brown: “We’re Going to Have to Worry About Them”

In a recent fan Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown was asked about his thoughts on the Cowboys’ offseason moves. Specifically, he was asked about Dallas’ trade for George Pickens, a young and explosive wide receiver formerly with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I like that, I ain’t gonna lie,” Brown said candidly. “We’re going to have to worry about (Dallas), for sure. No, I like the trade. I do like the trade. I like the competition. I like George Pickens, I like CeeDee Lamb. And they collab. It’s going to be exciting to watch

Brown’s remarks sparked attention across fan circles and sports media. His tone wasn’t worried, but it was respectful, even admiring. And that says a lot coming from a player on the team that just lifted the Lombardi Trophy.

Why Cowboys George Pickens Trade Matters

The Cowboys’ acquisition of Pickens gives them a dangerous WR duo. CeeDee Lamb already ranks among the league’s top receivers, and now with Pickens stretching the field, quarterback Dak Prescott could have one of the most dynamic passing attacks in the NFL.

For Dallas, the trade is not just about talent, it’s a statement. After years of playoff disappointment and questions about their ability to compete at the highest level, this move signals that they are all-in.

If Pickens and Lamb develop chemistry quickly, the Eagles’ top-tier defense, one of the best in the NFL, will have their hands full twice a year.

The Eagles-Cowboys rivalry is one of the fiercest in the NFL. Every game between them is high-stakes, high-drama, and full of playoff implications. With the addition of Pickens, Dallas has narrowed the talent gap and might have finally added the spark they’ve been missing.

A.J. Brown’s candid reaction is a rare moment of openness in today’s ultra-competitive NFL landscape. It shows that even inside the Eagles’ locker room, Dallas is being taken seriously.

And while the Eagles may still hold the crown, 2025’s NFC East race just got a whole lot more interesting.

The Eagles remain the NFC favorite, but A.J. Brown’s words are clear: don’t sleep on Dallas. The George Pickens trade is more than a headline, it could shift the balance of power in the division.
