AJ Brown, fresh off helping the Philadelphia Eagles win their second Super Bowl in franchise history, is back in headlines, but this time, it’s not for anything on the field. The Pro Bowl wide receiver just delivered one of the most controversial off-field statements of the offseason. Publicly calling out some of his teammates for how they treat women.
“These guys that’s in the league getting in trouble with women… They got a fetish,” Brown said during a powerful talk at a youth center. “You can pick and choose. Real-time p*rn, right? And it’s going to a whole other level.”
His remarks, described by some fans as brutally honest and by others as locker-room betrayal, came during an unfiltered speech to troubled youth in Chester, Pennsylvania, where Brown opened up about his rough upbringing, his own mistakes, and the ugly side of NFL stardom.
You’re Looking at Her as an Object, Not a Human
Brown, recently engaged to his longtime girlfriend, didn’t hold back when addressing the warped mindset of many pro athletes. He warned the young men about the dangers of objectifying women and how porn and status warp the way players think.
“What p*rn does to your brain, it desensitizes your brain… You’re not seeing a woman. You’re seeing a thing,” he added.
Brown’s comments directly pointed to NFL culture, specifically, the entitled behavior he says comes from money and fame. While he acknowledged that some players do get wrongfully accused. He emphasized that many bring trouble upon themselves due to their attitudes toward women.
AJ Brown: Fans Divided, Eagles Locker Room Quiet
The video clip of Brown’s speech has been making the rounds online, and reactions are split. Some fans are praising Brown for speaking truth to power, calling his remarks “refreshing” and “brave.” Others are accusing him of airing dirty laundry and potentially damaging team chemistry.
Notably, several of the Eagles’ core players, including DeVonta Smith, Jordan Mailata, and Nakobe Dean, attended Brown’s recent engagement party at the Four Seasons, where John Legend performed live. But now, questions are swirling: how do those same teammates feel about Brown’s public criticism?
Whether this sparks a bigger conversation inside the Eagles organization or gets swept under the rug remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: AJ Brown didn’t come to play nice this offseason, and he might have just forced the NFL to look in the mirror.
