Quarterback may be the most important position in football, but even the best can’t do it all alone. Without a solid offensive line, reliable receivers, or even a decent defense, some talented QBs were stuck playing uphill their entire careers.
These guys had the arm, the skill, and the leadership—but they were often surrounded by dropped passes, missed blocks, and defensive meltdowns. Here are 10 former NFL quarterbacks who definitely deserved a better supporting cast.
10. Jake Plummer
Plummer was a gutsy playmaker who kept his teams in games they had no business winning. He never quite had a complete roster around him, and it showed in the win column.
