10 Former NFL Quarterbacks Who Deserved a Better Supporting Cast

Quarterback may be the most important position in football, but even the best can’t do it all alone. Without a solid offensive line, reliable receivers, or even a decent defense, some talented QBs were stuck playing uphill their entire careers.

These guys had the arm, the skill, and the leadership—but they were often surrounded by dropped passes, missed blocks, and defensive meltdowns. Here are 10 former NFL quarterbacks who definitely deserved a better supporting cast.

Plummer was a gutsy playmaker who kept his teams in games they had no business winning. He never quite had a complete roster around him, and it showed in the win column.

Thrown into the fire in Detroit, Harrington had the tools but no help. His career was derailed by shaky coaching, poor protection, and not much talent around him.
